The Avalanche Guild’s After-Hours program has successfully provided more than 100 adult hockey teams with an unforgettable hockey experience that takes place on Pepsi Center ice before and after select Avalanche home games.

In order for your teams to be able to participate in an After-Hours game, teams need to buy/sell at least 100 tickets, or reach 200 total between one group occupying both benches. Tickets are offered at a great group discount, which allows you to spread the word and bring all of your family, friends and co-workers with you to the After-Hours game, all at an amazing price! Ticket prices are subject to change.

To reserve an After-Hours game, please contact The Hockey Guild at 720-273-0444 or email us at info@thehockeyguild.com.

We’ll be kicking this season off with the annual Avs Guild vs. Mile High Hockey game on Sunday, October 30th. The game will take place before the Avs take on the Los Angeles Kings.

The After-Hours program was created by The Hockey Guild in the summer of 2007 while preparing for the first season of unique interactive programs together. It was the start of a great partnership between The Hockey Guild and the Colorado Avalanche, one that continues to grow on a monthly basis. The first-ever After-Hours game was a special group of 30 local hockey players that acted as the first 30 members of The Avalanche Guild.

The Avalanche Guild Absorbs the Burgundy Brigade

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Hockey Guild, LLC announced today that The Avalanche Guild has absorbed the Burgundy Brigade. As a result, the grassroots fan club will now be the new home and hosts of the Guild’s annual interactive events.

During the later stages of last season, the Burgundy Brigade was co-founded by four passionate Avalanche fans: Kevin Goff, Rachel Polner, Jamie Owen and Matt Jordan. All four were on a mission to create a new group of fans that would re-inject the passion back into the Pepsi Center. They approached The Avalanche Guild for support back in June, and the result was a simple and smart joining of forces.

Starting today, the Burgundy Brigade not only becomes the force behind The Avalanche Guild’s live events, but they also represent a new breed of knowledgeable, supportive and passionate Avalanche fans.

“With the Burgundy Brigade joining our staff, I am proud to say The Avalanche Guild is stronger than ever,” said The Hockey Guild and The Goalie Guild founder Justin Goldman. “Their enthusiasm and willingness to take our mission statement to new heights allows us to host bigger and more prominent fan-interactive events. This is a big win for the Colorado hockey community, as we continue to raise awareness for this young, talented and exciting Avalanche team.”

The Avalanche Guild’s mission statement, which is to advance and enhance the Avalanche fan’s experience through a wide variety of on and off-ice events, remains the same. But for the upcoming celebratory fifth season in business, die-hard fans will now have a chance to join the new grassroots fan club.

Starting in September, any Avalanche fan over the age of 18 can fill out a simple form at any time on The Avalanche Guild and join the Burgundy Brigade. There is no cost to join and no obligations, as we simply ask for your help in making the Pepsi Center a tougher building for opposing teams.

As a Burgundy Brigade member, you will have an opportunity to join your friends by purchasing discounted tickets through The Avs Guild and sitting together in a designated section at Pepsi Center for select home games. More information on the Burgundy Brigade fan section will be available in early September.

“I’m incredibly excited for the Burgundy Brigade to be joining forces with The Avalanche Guild,” said Goff, one of the original co-founders of the Burgundy Brigade. “There is so much to be excited about with the Avalanche and the upcoming NHL season, and we’re all determined to help fans feel the same kind of enthusiasm for the team that we have. I can’t wait to get into the Pepsi Center and remind the hockey world why Denver has the greatest team and the greatest fans in the NHL.”

With the Burgundy Brigade now managing The Avalanche Guild’s events, a new Board of Directors has been strategically structured and will be announced in September. Information will also be posted by the end of the month regarding this year’s events, which will include After-Hours games, the return of the Battle for the Banner Shootout Tournament, ticket giveaways and promotions, viewing parties and even more news and analysis on the website.

“I have always considered The Avalanche Guild as the best resource for any fan who wanted to become more knowledgeable about the Avalanche,” said Polner. “With this announcement, the Burgundy Brigade has joined an organization with a rich history in bringing fans to the games through on and off ice promotions, as well as their Quest for the Crown charity hockey tournament. I look forward to working together to become the number-one source for Avalanche fans.”

Along with the Burgundy Brigade alignment, Goldman announced today that he will be providing radio analysis exclusively on KBPI 106.7 FM via the Uncle Nasty Show. His voice will be heard on a more consistent basis on Monday through Friday, as his seventh season on the station will continue to provide listeners with game previews, recaps and more.

This announcement marks the end of Goldman’s three-year tenure as the co-host and color analyst for Avalanche shows on Mile High Sports Radio AM 1510. This came a few days after the station notified The Hockey Guild that they are no longer producing the Avalanche Weekly show.

“The Avalanche injected a ton of youth and enthusiasm into their lineup this summer,” Goldman added. “We want to bring that enthusiasm to life in the stands, in the local community, on the airwaves and across the globe. Now with the Burgundy Brigade by our side, The Avalanche Guild has a louder voice to let local sports fans hear just how exciting this team is right now.”

For more information on The Avalanche Guild, please visit the website at www.theavalancheguild.com and stay tuned for more details on the upcoming season. You can also reach The Avalanche Guild president and website manager Ryan Boulding at ryan@thehockeyguild.com for more information on sponsorships and partnerships.

Owned and operated by Kevin DeLange, who also captains a hockey team in the Rocky Mountain Hockey League (RMHL), Dry Dock Brewery is a small pub located in Aurora off of Hampden road. They are the only microbrewery in Aurora and hands-down one of the best, as they have won numerous annual awards for their tasty brews.

As you can see, Kevin and his crew had an awesome time on Pepsi Center ice before the Avs game, as the two teams battled to another shootout that ended in a 5-4 victory for the Spitting Camels.

Be sure to watch the video, as Kevin invites all of you to check out Dry Dock Brewery and even gives you a free brew on the house if you mention this video! A special thanks to Kevin and his boys for being a great After-Hours group!

Like all of our After-Hours teams, the boys took advantage of a great Guild discount on tickets and in return for their support, they received a rare opportunity to hit Pepsi Center ice following the game for an hour of shinny, Vail style.

Here’s an interview we shot with Gary Defina, the captain of the Vail crew. Gary is also a coach for Battle Mountain High School’s hockey team, so he’s well-connected in the Vail hockey community and a great guy with some great stories. He’s a big supporter of The Hockey Guild and The Avalanche Guild, so we thank Gary for his passion and are proud to have him be a part of the exclusive After-Hours club!

As a way of saying thanks to Gary’s crew for their support, we granted him two free shootout teams in our third-annual Battle for the Banner Colorado Avalanche Shootout Tournament, which takes place every March right on Pepsi Center ice. The tournament brings together shootout teams comprised of players that participated in After-Hours games throughout the year. The two teams that advance to the final shootout game actually play the championship on Pepsi Center ice during intermission of an Avalanche home game!

If your adult (or youth) hockey team is interested in setting up one of our exclusive Avalanche Guild events, just contact us at info@thehockeyguild.com and we will do our best to make it happen!

We have a lot of great benefits planned for Year #3, including more options and opportunities to play on NHL ice at Pepsi Center!

Some of you are already quite familiar with the After Hours program, yet others have only heard about the experience from players on other teams. For those that are unfamiliar with this exclusive on-ice program, our official welcome letter will give you some basic information on how it works and what you can expect in the coming months as we prepare for the 2009-10 season. Click to download and then learn more by clicking on the After Hours tab at the top.

An After Hours game takes place either before or after an Avalanche home game. You and your teammates will literally play a hockey game on Pepsi Center ice, while also attending the game at a great group discount. Everything from the jumbotron and PA announcer to the locker rooms, your team is a part of a real game on real NHL ice!!

We are proud to offer available games for both pre and post-game ice, so now you have more opportunities to sign up for your own After Hours game. Remember, it doesn’t just have to be for your hockey team. It can be for your business or co-workers, a group outing with your hockey friends and family or just a good ol’ game of shinny with the weekly drop-in crew. Regardless of your playing level or ability, you’re welcome to play in our After Hours program.

And yes, we’re still giving away FREE team entries for our third-annual “Battle for the Banner” shootout tournament, coming in March 2010.
