Last year, with nearly a month to go before the 2010 Entry Draft, the Colorado Avalanche announced the signings of what they believed to be two key parts of their rebuilding plan. On the same day, both enforcer David Koci and goaltender Peter Budaj re-signed with the team.

With news coming yesterday that Steve Konowalchuk would be leaving the Colorado Avalanche to pursue a head coaching position with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL, it seemed the most logical replacement would be Adam Deadmarsh.
