Looks like fans of Colorado Avalanche pugilist prospect Patrick Bordeleau can rest easy, the 25 year old left wing has signed with Colorado.

While information on the deal is sparse, as it has yet to be announced by the Avalanche, a post by Bordeleau’s sister on Facebook seems to serve as confirmation.

On the Bordeleau fan page, Bordy’s Hooligans, Carolanne Bordeleau posted “patrick a signé pour colorado.” Considering the impact Bordeleau has had both on the ice for the Lake Erie Monsters and off it, this signing is good news.

Bordeleau had 12 points and 125 penalty minutes in 72 games last season and became quite the local presence. Originally drafted by the Minnesota Wild, Bordeleau had 17 fights for the Monsters last season and even checked himself through a pane of glass on the boards.

He could be poised to replace David Koci as the team enforcer, adding perhaps a little more point production to the mix.

More information will follow when released. *Updated*

While the Colorado Avalanche have refused to comment officially, fellow writer Angelique Murray managed to find an article in L’Etoile Journal, in French, confirming the deal. According to writer Jennifer Groleau, the Avalanche offered Bordy a one-year, two-way contract.
